Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper for Mac Tutorial
Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper is up-to-date DVD audio extractor and ripper software which provides to rip DVD audio to MP2, MP3, WAV, AAC, AC3, OGG, RA, WMA and SUN AU. The DVD audio ripper offers easy and fast conversion with excellent quality. Using it, you are able to get audio tracks out from a DVD with ease.
The output formats support MP2, MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC, AC3, OGG, RA or SUN AU.
You can edit ID3 tag for your DVD sound.
The following is the instruction for you to extract audio source from DVD, and convert it to popular audio formats:
1. Download, install, and run Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper.
2. Load your DVD: Please choose "Open DVD ... " in the File menu or directly press the "Open DVD" button in the main interface, then select your DVD Drive in the list and the content of the DVD source will show up in the list consequently.
Sometimes, after loading, some chapters/episodes cannot be shown up automatically. That needs you to select the "Show Chapters" option in the "Edit" menu to load them.
3. You can preview the chapters/episodes in the preview window to find the chapters/episodes you like, remove one chapter/episode or several ones, clear the loaded DVD files and so on.
4. To preview a chapter/episode before conversion, just highlight an item, and then press "Play" to play it. All other buttons are available meanwhile. You can even jump to a target time using the slider. Please Note: This function is only for preview purpose.
5. When one chapter/episode gets highlighted, you can select audio track, subtitle and angle for it from certain combo-box in the main interface. And also you can customize a name for the tiles or chapters/episodes one by one by typing your words in the "title" text-box.
6. In order to select the target output format, you could choose the format you want to convert your files to in "Profile" combo-box. And all the target formats are shown in the dropdown list.
Tip: You can choose zoom style and split type depending on what you need.
Tip: The software allows setting different output formats for different files, depending on what you like.
All encoders/codecs are built-in. The software integrates with all video/audio encoders/codecs. Users can convert all supported formats once download the program.
7. Set output mode: After selecting certain output format, the right panel will show general standard of the format. You can specify it by clicking certain setting, or just keep the default.
The right panel also offers advanced profile settings, and you can open the "Advanced Profile Settings" panel just by clicking button "Show Advanced Settings".
Available preferences in both "Profile Settings" and "Advanced Profile Settings" panel are different in accordance with profile selected for output conversion.
Tip: It supports clip or segment conversion. You can convert any clip or segment by setting the start point and duration at will. For example, you want to rip a clip from 00:03:20 to 00:08:00, please click "Start time" to set the starting time 00:03:20 and click "Duration" to specify the length 00:04:40.
For sync problem, you may lower down the video bit rate to have a try. You can also try to solve it by adjusting the frame rate.
8. Select the output folder by clicking the "Browse..." button or directly enter a path in "Destination" box. The "C:temp" is set as the default destination folder.
9. Begin to convert: press the "Start Ripping" button to start your ripping. Note: All items in list are checked in default. If you only want to rip certain item(s), check it/them or uncheck others, press the "Start Ripping" button, and then Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper will rip them one by one. In the status column, the proportion finished, time left, as well as size, duration and bitrate of current item, are shown up when ripping; you would see the info "Completed" after a successful conversion.
Tip: It supports multithreading and batch conversion. You can select all files you want to convert and Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper will automatically encode them, even if these files use different settings.
Tip: You can choose "Preferences..." in the "Tools" menu to set how many files you can convert simultaneously before you start the conversion process.
During the process of converting, you can "Pause" or "Stop" anytime with certain buttons.
10. After the files are successfully ripped, you may click the "Open" button to browse the output files.
Note: During ripping, please don't run other large program to avoid lowering ripping speed.
